This report has been linked to the following event: Event 2127-2022
Observer
NameApril S
Experience Level3/5
RemarksI was inside and knew thunderstorms were likely that day as well as being within 3 miles of an active stone quarry. Even though I knew it was different from either of those it did not enter my mind it was something else until I read other reports from farther north and west of here. Felt it was important for me to report since there were no reports from Ripley county as of yet.

RemarksI heard more than seen it. It was like the stone quarry up the road had blasted at the same time a bolt of lightning hit within a mile. I seen the flash through a window with curtains closed about 3 seconds before hearing the boom which I knew was more than blasting because it shook the building I was in and knocked a few things onto the floor.
