Observer
Name Justine J
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks At the time of the sighting, I was walking along the High Peak Trail East to West (with Longcliffe Quarry to the right), exiting a section that has steep/rocky sides. My field of vision was restricted somewhat by the elevated sides, but the streak of very bright light appeared centrally, so I don't think my view of it was obstructed in any way, although I could not see the sky to my right (the direction it appeared from, travelling from right to left). The 'fireball' did seem very close and was much larger than any shooting star I've seen before, but due to the nature of the steep/elevated rocks, this perception of distance and size may be an illusion.

Remarks It happened incredibly quickly, but the original flash with trail came in, then seemed to quickly and subtly (no explosions) flash again with another trail continuing in the same direction/at the same angle - it was all part of the same 'streak' of light, but there were two definite 'parts' of it. Very difficult to describe!
